Cole's Corner, Observations of a 10-year old wannabe

 January, 2010 page 5

Hi, I’m Cole, and this month I visited the Pasco Ag Show in Pasco, Washington. I really wanted to check out the New Holland Boomer 8N tractor that I saw last month in Hermiston and sure enough, S.S. Equipment had one on display at this show. This tractor looks really cool because it has retro styling based on the 1948 Ford 8N tractor. This tractor is kind of white with an orangey-red engine and transmission, and chrome trim. The headlights are tiny and stick out from the sides, but are very bright and the gauges are retro with neat looking lights. It has a tiny and dark windshield that’s more for looks because it’s too low to see through, and the seat is comfy and fully adjustable. There is no clutch on this 8N because it has a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), like an automatic I guess, and the engine produces 50 horsepower. I really like this tractor because it seems like the perfect size for a lot of jobs and it looks cool. I’m asking for one for my birthday.
