6.7-Liter Engine Enhances Performance With Up To 51 Percent Torque Rise
The QSB6.7 engine from Cummins Inc. will power the Versatile 190-hp and 220-hp tractors launched by Buhler Versatile Inc. The QSB 6.7-liter engine joins the larger QSC 8.3-liter, QSM 11-liter and QSX 15-liter engines as part of the Cummins power lineup for the Versatile tractor range, meeting U.S. EPA Tier 3 emissions standards and equivalent Canadian regulations. The six-cylinder, 24-valve QSB6.7 offers the benefit of Cummins High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel system that enables cleaner combustion and a fasterengine response to deliver deep reserves of torque, providing the new Versatile 190-hp and 220-hp multipurpose utility tractors with premium performance.
Peak torque for the 190-hp-rated Versatile tractor is 685 lb-ft (929 N•m) at 1400 rpm, while the 220-hp-rated Versatile tractor provides 700 lb-ft (949 N•m) at 1500 rpm. The new tractor takes full advantage of the available torque with a rapid 51 percent torque rise from the 190-hp-rated engine and a 33 percent torque rise from the 220-hp-rated engine.
This high torque rise enables the engine to return to peak torque far more rapidly as rpm speed falls from 2200 due to more difficult working conditions. The tractor maintains a constant drawbar pull, even with changing engine load factors.

“Power and torque delivery are faster, quieter and smoother on the new Versatile tractor due to the precision fueling capability of the High Pressure Common Rail system. The tractor is ready to establish new performance standards within its power class.

With 190-hp- and 220-hp- rated power at 2200 rpm, the QSB6.7 is ideally power-matched to the new Versatile tractor to optimize fuel efficiency across all operating conditions. Peak power for the 190-hp-rated Versatile is 195 hp and 230 hp for the 220-hp-rated Versatile. This additional peak power above rated power arrives at a lower 1900-to-2000 rpm to help pull the tractor through tough spots without the need for downshifting.
Electronically Integrated
The QSB6.7 integrates seamlessly with electronic systems on the Versatile tractor and is fully synchronized with the powershift transmission to provide smooth shifting control and programmable features to precisely match work requirements.
Optimal fuel efficiency is continuously achieved by full-authority electronic control of the HPCR fuel system. This enables multiple injection events with very high fuel injection pressure across all rpm speeds, resulting in cleaner combustion and improved engine response.
Precision control of fuel injection also enables improved cold-weather starting, lower noise and smoother idle control for the Versatile tractor. The HPCR fuel system is compatible with B20 biodiesel blends, conforming to industry-approved standards.

The QSB6.7 features an exceptionally strong block with a ribbed design and integral ladder. The strengthened block features, together with the installation benefit of a rear gear train, not only enhance reliability but also enable the most stringent noise reduction targets to be met. The QSB6.7-powered tractor shares the same ease of servicing as offered by the larger QSC-, QSM- and QSX-powered tractors, which is a particular advantage of the Versatile range for operators. Electronic commonality across the Versatile tractor range allows for rapid service diagnostics and engine performance tracking.
